Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) is a multi-component, evidence-based, early intervention service for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis (FEP) that can improve their quality of life and social and clinical outcomes. It is an evidence-based, recovery-focused, team-based model that promotes access to care and shared decision-making among specialists, the person experiencing psychosis, and family members.
The core components of a CSC clinic are as follows (in no particular order):
- Shared decision-making framework
- Medication management
- Psychotherapy
- Case management
- Family education and support
- Peer support
- Supported employment and education
