I began working with youth as an educator, and I then realized that I wanted to work with youth on a more individualized counseling and advocacy-focused basis. Not long after, I pursued my MSW. Since then I have worked with populations that range from preschoolers to aging adults.
In regards to youth, I have provided counseling for those diagnosed with ASD, ADHD, ODD, SLD, Communication Impairment, PTSD, Adjustment Disorder, and Gender Dysphoria. Specialized populations I have counseled are Transgender youth, Mute/Selective Mutism diagnosed ASD youth, youth that has engaged in non-suicidal self-injurious behavior, and sex offender youth. Additionally, I have provided parenting/family counseling for adoptive parents, and ASD youth adjusting to recent separation/divorce, and provided support/advocacy for parents of children with IEPs - with my knowledge as a former child study team coordinator/case manager.
