Immigration and American Citizenship Organization

Our Mission is to guide and assist immigrants in their process of adjustment, stabilization and integration into American society, regardless of their nationality, race, religion, sex, age, academic background and economic situation.

Immigration and American Citizenship Organization (IACO) provides legal representation to low-income persons. IACO assists new immigrants on a variety of immigration matters.

Programs
Through its four programs, IACO provides legal advice on immigration and tax obligations such as filing a tax return, advice and representation in immigration proceedings before the Immigration and Citizenship Service (USCIS), conducts seminars and conferences, participates in Community and civic campaigns, while creating and developing projects that facilitate the integration of the immigrant into society.

Immigration and Citizenship Program
This program was created to advise, assist and represent immigrants in their immigration procedures before the Immigration and Citizenship Service (USCIS), related agencies and departments. Through this program, IACO helps US citizens and legal permanent residents, who want to bring their families, into the process of family reunification. IACO's accompaniment does not culminate with the adjustment of status, that is, when the immigrant acquires residence, but continues until the immigrant acquires US citizenship.

Education and Training Program
This program is designed to help immigrants who have little English proficiency and want to prepare to apply for US citizenship.

Immigrant Integration Program
The general purpose of this program is to raise awareness among all the different agents of society: government entities, civil society, non-profit organizations, consular delegations and immigrants in general, on the importance of facilitating and streamlining the process of integration of New immigrants to society. In addition, to help immigrants identify their responsibilities, obligations and rights before society so that they can participate in the creation of a more secure, stable and just society.

Professional Assistance Program

This program was created with the purpose of advising immigrants on immigration laws and their tax obligations, ie whether or not they are required to file a tax return.
