Based on the clients’ preferences and requirements, they are referred to suitable clients. The Provider receives the names of appropriate Seekers and the Seeker receives the first name and phone numbers of several suitable Providers. The Provider’s anonymity is always protected. S/he decides if, when and where to meet the Seeker. HomeSharing doesn’t “place” people in homes. We provide clients with screened applicants which enable them to decide for themselves who to live with.

SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS

Occasionally, a Provider needs some help around the house and is looking for someone who is willing to live in their home under a “service arrangement”. In that situation, the Seeker’s rent is reduced (or free) in exchange for help with household chores or services (for example, cooking, cleaning, shopping, yard work, etc.). In such cases, the HomeSharing Social Worker helps the Provider and Seeker negotiate and document an agreement which details the work-for-rent arrangement.
