Happiness is Camping

Our mission is to provide children with cancer and their siblings a residential camp experience together with sophisticated medical care for campers both on and off treatment. These special children come to this unique camp free of charge, where they can put aside their illness and do what kids like to do… have fun!

At Happiness Is Camping, it seems the activities never stop --- and neither do the children. The day begins with reveille at 8:25 a.m., and doesn't end until the flag is lowered at 9:00 p.m. In between, campers can choose from daily activities that include: swimming, fishing, archery, ropes, boating, arts & crafts, drama, indoor and outdoor sports and much more.

Our facility houses a fully equipped health center. Our 24 hour medical staff always includes a pediatric oncologist and two hematology oncology nurses. We are equipped to handle on-going care, enabling the camp to welcome children who require oral and/or IVP chemotherapy, and children with blood disorders, infections, and physical disabilities.

Eligibility Any child with cancer, age 6 to 15 years, is welcome. All that is required is that the child's physician determine the child well enough to attend via our medical forms. You must also present evidence of health insurance and/or Medicaid.
