Giving Network

The Giving Network is an all-volunteer nonprofit charity which is dedicated to recycling items – we accept donated household goods & deliver them to the needy in Somerset County (NJ). The Giving Network started in 1999 with just a few volunteers working to help flood victims of Hurricane Floyd that devastated Bound Brook, NJ and nearby communities along the Raritan River.

Currently there are 25 regular volunteers and many other occasional workers giving their time and effort to help people in need throughout Somerset County. Read about the History & Background of the Giving Network.

The mission of the Giving Network is to be achieved by meeting these objectives:

  1. Determine those in the community who have specific needs of food, household items, linens, small appliances, baby items, and furniture.
  2. Solicit individuals and organizations to obtain donations of needed items.
  3. Organize and distribute needed items to individuals and families and to shelters, food banks, and other organizations that assist those in need.
