Girl Scouts Day Camps

Here at Girl Scouts, we are huge advocates of spending time outside – and going to camp is a perfect way to interact with nature. Attending summer camp is not only a beloved tradition, but camping also provides girls with a better understanding of our environment and gives them the confidence to try new things. From building lifelong friendships to swimming, canoeing, and archery, there is no shortage of things to do at summer camp.

Camps:

Camp Lou Henry Hoover has been helping girls learn and grow since 1953. Located in Middleville, NJ with access to Swartswood Lake, Camp Hoover operates as a residential camp that provides general camp programs (grades 1 to 12), like waterfront activities and specialty programs (grades 3 to 12) such as horseback riding, gymnastics, and cooking in addition to general camp activities. Camp Agnes DeWitt, located in the Sourland Mountains in Hillsborough Township, is currently “rested” following a fire in February of 2014. Unfortunately, DeWitt’s main building – Marilyn Hall – was destroyed during the fire. The Board and Council have begun the process of rebuilding, and summer camp will be ready for 2017.  We are looking forward to see our campers making memories back at DeWitt very soon!

The OVAL is located in the South Mountain Reservation area of Maplewood, NJ and operates as a day camp for girls entering grades 1 to 9. Since 1959, The OVAL has been challenging girls to learn something new and make memories that will last a lifetime. There is a ton to do at The OVAL including, sports, games, themed programs, and exciting off-site trips. Contact The OVAL: 973-763-2412
