Far Hills County Day School - Smart Fun Camps

We offer six weeks of one- and two-week sessions highlighting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) that allow families to to customize their children's camp time with family summer plans.

A co-educational day school serving children from Prekindergarten through Grade Eight. Far Hills Country Day Camp offers a wide variety of summer camp activities and is located on 53 acers with athletic fields, playgrounds, an adventure course and more.

Programs:

SUMMER IN THE STUDIO (Grades PreK-1)
Week-long themed sessions focus on nature, water, and building. Student-directed explorations driven by children’s natural curiosity are guided by an expert teacher using a variety of hands-on materials. Daily break-out sessions including cooking, game play and/or Music and Movement.

FUNDAMENTALS SPORTS CAMP (Ages 6-12)
The goal of FUNDAMENTALS is to provide quality sports education to young children. At FUNDAMENTALS, children learn the skills and concepts of a variety of sports and games. Sports and activities may include: baseball, softball, flag football, field hockey, soccer, basketball, tennis, and golf.

OLDE SCHOOL LACROSSE (Grades K-2 and 3-8)
Learn the fundamentals of lacrosse–shooting, passing, dodging, offensive and defensive principles and face-offs. Learn the basic skills of all positions. This is for all athletes, whether they are picking up a stick for the first time, or have played for several years.

AWESOME AND AMAZING ENGINEERING ADVENTURES (Grades 2-5)
Awesome and amazing engineering adventures includes an invasive species investigation and other hands-on learning activities.

SUMMER THEATER WORKSHOP (Grades K-8)
Workshop participants will act, sing, dance, choreograph, stage, and direct a production of “The Lion King, Jr.” This program runs two weeks and includes a final performance on Friday, July 22.

STANDARDIZED TEST PREP (Grades 7-8)
Students will learn strategies and approaches to answer all types of standardized test questions. They’ll also have the opportunity for guided practice, customized strategy practice, answer selection analysis, and more practice and review of key skills.

ESSAY WRITING WORKSHOP (Grades 7-8)
Study principles and models of excellent secondary school application essay writing, essentially the craft of the personal narrative, draft own sample school essays, and receive individualized feedback and guidance on own essays. The goal is to nish the class with essays students can use for the secondary school application process.
