Everas has specialized in a very unique, low incidence, yet highly intensive support needs population. The disability of deaf-blindness poses extreme challenges in the areas of communication, mobility, and transportation. Due to these specialized needs, accessible community resources and independent living options are not readily available, even those resources specifically for people with disabilities. As a result, Everas has a tremendous amount of experience in developing and creating the resources to support and promote independent living and community inclusion for our clients.
Our experience encompasses training family members, other service providers, and community businesses on individual accessibility needs; identifying networks of support within communities to facilitate accessible experiences for our clients; detailed and thorough attention to health and safety; and supporting people to understand their rights, and to identify and advocate for their independent living needs.
