If you are a deaf or hard-of-hearing person and are experiencing barriers to services and programs, DDHH has a deaf language advocacy program, staffed by deaf and hard-of-hearing specialists, that can advocate for you in a variety of ways.

DDHH deaf and hard of hearing specialists can help you access the information you need, or go with you to meetings, in a supportive role. The deaf and hard-of-hearing specialists can link you to other resources that can help you access the services and programs you need.

Equipment Distribution Program
New Jersey residents with hearing loss, regardless of their economic status, have access to critical telecommunications and visual alerting home safety equipment needed to live independently.

Sign Language and Caption Services
Sign language interpreting and captioning referral services.

Assistive Technology Demonstration Center
Displays assistive communication devices for people with hearing loss.

Hearing Aid Programs
The NJ Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing administers two programs available for residents with low incomes who are in need of hearing aids.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Sensitivity Training
On-site sensitivity training that covers various topics including how to provide equal communication access in services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Language Instruction Services for Children
Language acquisition and development services for deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind children ages 0-5 as well as supports and resources to their families.
