CEA- Community Employment & Evaluation & CEA School
CEA provides community employment and evaluation services generally in Hunterdon, Somerset and Middlesex Counties. As these services take place at community evaluation and job sites, the days and hours of operation vary based on the individual requirements of the job held or the schedule of the specific evaluation site.CEA does not charge participants any fees for services, except in private pay circumstances. Nearly all of our program participants are referred to us through the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services or the Division of Developmental Disabilities, who pay us a fee for the approved services.
Workplace readiness training is available to most individuals at no cost through the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) or the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Individualized workplace readiness plans can be arranged through the DDD Supports Program.
Workplace readiness services are generally available Monday through Friday from 9:15 AM to 3:45 PM at our main location in Flemington, NJ.
For our youth services introductory program, students aged 14 to 21 are referred to us through DVRS and may be eligible for up to 20 hours of service of each of the five areas. Areas include:
- Workplace Readiness Training to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities for finding and maintaining employment, including resume development and interview preparation.
- Job Exploration Counseling for identifying personal vocational interests, in-demand occupations and potential career pathways.
- Work-Based Learning Experiences at local businesses to explore job opportunities.
- Group and Individual Counseling on enrollment opportunities in transition or post-secondary education programs.
- Instruction on Self-Advocacy to learn about individual rights, responsibilities, and how to communicate thoughts, concerns and needs as they relate to employment and post-secondary education.
- CEA's intermediate program offers students, aged 14-21, the opportunity to participate in a paid internship. The intermediate program is designed for students who are more independent and want to take the next steps towards their futures following high school.
CEA's out-of-school program helps unemployed youth, and young adults, ages 16-24, further develop needed skills. Young adults will have the opportunity to explore work and post-secondary educational opportunities on their path to adulthood. Our Youth Services programs are provided in Hunterdon, Somerset, Mercer, and Middlesex Counties.
The CEA School located at South Hunterdon Regional High School has been established to meet the needs of our students in more inclusive environments. The CEA School is a New Jersey Department of Education approved private school located within a public school setting serving middle and high school aged students with disabilities.
