The County College Based Center for Adult Transition (CAT) promotes opportunities for independence in employment, post-secondary education, workplace readiness, independent living skills, and more, through a combination of classroom learning and community engagement.

CENTER FOR ADULT TRANSITION

Project SEARCH
at Atlantic Health System
Project SEARCH is a one-year, business-led, unpaid internship program for students at Hackettstown Medical Center or Newton Medical Center providing a chance to explore careers and develop transferable job skills through a combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through worksite rotations.

Must be either in last year of high school 18-21, or adults 21-25

Paid Student Internship
An opportunity for students to reinforce soft skills, "Get a Plan, Get a Job, Keep a Job." Students earn $18.00 per hour while interning and up to $600 for 6 weeks of soft skill and career training classes!

Student or June graduate must be between the ages of 14-21

Reside and attend school in Warren, southern Sussex, western Morris, or northern Hunterdon counties

Must commit to:

Working a minimum of 10 hours per week for a 150-hour paid internship experience.

Orientation and virtual soft skill training, attending a minimum of 3 one-hour sessions per week for 3 weeks before the internship and 3 weeks after the internship experience. Students will get paid for the classes. ($100 per week)

Must have transportation to and from work.

Must be willing/able to work independently at the job site with employer supervision provided.
