What is Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB)?
Problematic sexual behavior (PSB) is sexualized behavior in children and adolescents that’s developmentally inappropriate or potentially harmful to those impacted by the behavior.
Specialized Care Coordination helps to ensure that children who initiate or are affected by PSB, and their families, have access to specialized medical and mental health services.

Types of Treatment
PSB-CBT
- For adolescents (13 or older) initiating PSB.
- For children(12 and under) initiating PSB.
Trauma Focused CBT: for youth affected by PSB at any age.
Who provides treatment and recommendations?
Licensed Clinicians trained in PSB- CBT and TF-CBT modalities. After an initial evaluation, treatment
recommendations may include individual, group, and/or family counseling.
Regional Diagnostic Treatment Centers provide medical evaluations. Tri County’s Center is
Dorothy B. Hersch in New Brunswick.
