The Department of Pediatrics’ mission is to protect and ensure the health and well-being of all children. We are dedicated to advancing the field of pediatrics through patient services, research, education, and advocacy. We are committed to providing multidisciplinary, family-centered care with respect, compassion and the highest standards of excellence.

The Child Neurology Division performs comprehensive evaluations and treatment of children with suspected disorders of the nervous system. Close coordination is carried out with the primary physician and the child's school. The Division of Developmental Disabilities provides the comprehensive evaluation and management of children with a spectrum of developmental disorders. Conditions evaluated include Autism, cerebral palsy, concussion, headaches, epilpsy, Multiple Sclerosis, muscle doosoreds, nerve injuries, neurogenetic conditions, spinal cord disorders, and tic disorder.

Current Programs

Child Neurology Program: The Child Neurology Division performs comprehensive evaluations and treatment of children with suspected disorders of the nervous system.

Neonatal Neurology Program: The Neonatal Neurology Program provides the medical evaluation, treatment and follow-up of neonates with neurological abnormalities.

Pediatric Concussion Program

Pediatric Epilepsy Program: Our program specializes in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of children with seizures and epilepsy. We cover all seizure types in children and provide ongoing support for families. Diagnostic modalities include MRI studies, genetic testing, EEG, and video EEG services. We are happy to provide second opinions on any cases.

Pediatric Headache Program: Our program specializes in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of children with headaches, including migraines, tension-type headaches, sinus headaches, and more.

Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis and Demyelinating Diseases Program: The Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis program fully evaluates and treats pediatric patients with central demyelinating diseases, including MS, NMO, ADEM, optic neuritis, and transverse myelitis. Specific attention is paid to the child’s functional and cognitive status, in addition to their presenting neurological symptoms, in order to maximize their outcome.
