Give hope to young homeless mothers in New Jersey!
Raphael's Life House is a transitional residence for women who are homeless and pregnant. Here they will find a place to rebuild their lives and give their children a positive start in life. All women between the ages of 18 and 23 are welcome regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, or economic status. We welcome them and offer the help they need to begin their new lives with their new families. We offer a continuum of services including classes on prenatal care and parenting, educational and vocational training, and life skills programs from budgeting to building self-esteem.
Services for young homeless mothers...
While at Raphael’s Life House, our new moms participate in a structure where they learn to become healthy parents with the ability to support themselves and their children.
SERVICES OFFERED INCLUDE:
- Case Management: Our Residential Advisors work with each woman to set and achieve goals.
- Behavioral Health: Our Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides short-term counseling to our young mothers.
- Education: We provide individual instruction to our young moms who are interested in obtaining their GED or its equivalent. Additionally, RLH provides access to the classroom instruction offered at the Covenant House Community Service Center.
- Career Development: Our vocation programs give them the tools they need to learn to obtain a job. They learn how to write a resume, where to look for work and how to dress and prepare for an interview.
- Parenting: Through both group and individual sessions our young mothers receive parenting skills ranging from prenatal education through childhood development.
