It is the mission of Pathways to Independence, Inc. to provide program support services, pre-vocational and vocational opportunities to adults with disabilities. These programs shall provide individuals with disabilities the skills necessary to reach their most independent level of functioning
Pathways provides independent living education, including information on careers, employment preparation, housing, financial literacy, nutrition, and sexual health. Workshops, individual outreach and retreat are included. Pathways also provides referrals and advocacyIt is the intent of these programs to provide individuals with the opportunity to earn an income and to maximize their independent living skills. Pathways to Independence, Inc. shall conduct all programs with integrity, treating each individual with dignity and respect.
Programs:
- Adult Training Services (ATC): ATC provides consumers within the Generic program the opportunity to participate in activities for which the individuals receive compensation, programs may include maintenance, prime -manufacturing, Sub-contract and Recycling.
- Habilitation Activities: ATC provides activities geared towards improving or developing each consumer’s ability to work through written goals and objectives within their IHP.
- Community Inclusive Activities: Consumers are provided the opportunity to participate in the community. A minimum of 6 activities is provided weekly, which is focus on improving and developing social and communication skills, safety, entertainment and cultural inclusion.
- Self Determination: A non-traditional program that is tailor made to suit the individual in assisting them to reach individual goals that they set for themselves.
- The Crafters Program: A statewide program. Individuals who are blind and visually impaired make all the gifts and crafts sold. Craft Coordinators assist these consumers to develop the skills which enable them to produce craft specialty items to be sold at craft shows throughout the state.
