The mission of Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County (LVSC) is to promote literacy in the community through student-centered tutoring and programs for low-literacy adults.

LVSC is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization accredited by ProLiteracy America. We are located in Bridgewater, N. J. and serve communities in Somerset County and the surrounding area. We recruit and train volunteer tutors who help adult students needing to improve their reading, writing, and conversational English.

Our services enable students to:

• Get better paying jobs.
• Become US citizens.
• Help their children with school work.
• Continue their education.
• Lead more productive lives.
