LEE Services

We support children/youth with developmental disabilities (DD) and their caregivers through information/education workshops and recreation at this time. We are in the process of developing after-school and weekend programs for children/youth with DD. Additionally, we are contracting with school districts through our Next S.T.E.P.S. program to provide a transition from school to adult life services.

LEE Services are designed to implement person-centered practices in meeting the unique social, emotional, and educational needs of people with a wide range of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). All program sessions are provided in a safe, secure, and stimulating environment where individuals with IDD can expand their knowledge, develop independent skills, foster healthy relationships, and actively engage in local community activities.

While attending LEE Services, participants will be provided a variety of opportunities and experiences that will enrich their lives as well as maximize their potential for self-sufficiency and enhance their career trajectories. All activities will be age-appropriate, offering variety and choice that emphasize community integration, and focus on small groups and individual interactions and experiences.

At LEE Services, we will focus on skill building that assists participants with IDD navigate through the world.  Our emphasis is on creating a social environment geared towards providing opportunities for enhanced connections with others who may or may not have IDD. Areas of Learning Enrichment Experiences will include the following:

Prevocational Training services provide learning and work experiences, including volunteer work, where the participants can develop general, on-job-task-specific strengths and skills that contribute to employability in paid employment in integrated community settings. Services may include training in effective communication with supervisors, co-workers, and customers, generally accepted community workplace conduct and dress, ability to give and follow directions, ability to attend to tasks, workplace problem-solving skills and strategies, and general workplace safety training.
