Family Crisis Intervention Unit (FCIU) - Hunterdon County

FCIU serves adolescents (ages 12-18) and their families who are in crisis as a result of any or all of the following: parent-child conflict, truancy, runaway behavior, behavior that is putting the adolescent at risk for law enforcement contact, serious threat to the well-being and physical safety of the adolescent due to behavior of the adolescent. The program is voluntary and provides no-cost immediate intervention, assessment, counseling, and case management services in an effort to stabilize the crisis.

The Family Crisis Intervention Unit serves as the coordinator and liaison between Hunterdon Behavioral Health, the family and the court system. The result is that these cases are often diverted from the juvenile justice system.
