CJHRC is a non-profit alliance of representatives from corporate and financial institutions, the real estate and development communities, social service providers, government leaders, and housing advocates, working locally to resolve issues facing households who are struggling to find housing that meets their needs and means.
CJHRC provides low and moderate-income families with the information that they need to make informed and reasonable decisions to achieve their housing goals.
CJHRC Services that we provide to low and moderate-income families include, but are not limited to the following:
- Eligibility and application processes for the state and federal affordable housing programs.
- Foreclosure and delinquency counseling.
- Financial Literacy (budgeting, tracking expenses, credit debt, etc.,).
- Housing rehabilitation opportunities.
- Homebuyer education (pre & post-purchase).
- Information and referrals on emergency and transitional housing.
- Fair Housing Information.
- Grant and Downpayment Assistance Programs (Federal/State/Other).
- HUD eligibility requirements for senior housing programs, subsidized housing, and shared living programs.
- Information for special needs housing in Somerset County, including senior housing and housing for the disabled.
