TRAINING DESCRIPTION
This training will prepare participants to effectively support survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Warren County. Attendees will learn about the challenges survivors face, local resources, and trauma-informed best practices. The session also includes legal protections, advocacy strategies, and a brief overview of the VASPA protocol, which promotes coordinated, cross-agency responses.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Identify barriers survivors might face in Warren County when seeking help and services.
Recognize available services, including shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention, and understand how to connect survivors to appropriate services and staff.
Understand the basic purpose of the Violence Against Sexual and Partner Abuse (VASPA) protocol and its role in promoting coordinated community response.
Learn how to partner with DASACC and other community agencies to strengthen a trauma-informed response to domestic and sexual violence.
